Anointing of the Sick
Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament given to those with serious illnesses are who are in danger of death.
Along with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing. It is meant to strengthen the faith of the believer in times of severe infirmity and unite him or her more closely to Christ and His passion. While Anointing of the Sick is meant to help prepare one to depart from this life into heaven, an effect of physical healing and restoration can also be an effect of this sacrament.
